The Legend

The ANZAC spirit is a concept that suggests that Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers possessed shared characteristics allegedly first exemplified on the battlefields of World War I.

These perceived qualities include endurance, courage, ingenuity, humour, larrikinism, and mateship. The concept perceives ANZAC’s to have been innocent, fit, stoical and laconic, irreverent in the face of authority, naturally egalitarian and disdainful of class differences, and a staunch supporter of ‘the underdog’ or‘battler’ (disadvantaged) – effectively distilled to an ethos of, ‘looking out for your mates.’

The Weary ANZAC Biscuit Company aims to commemorate and represent these values in its biscuits and business.
